First, happy new year from Lab Zero!

The beginning of 2017 marks the end of Indivisible’s pre-production, meaning that most everything has been decided, concepted, and is ready to be made. Expect a flood of new info, animations and music this year as production kicks into high gear!

Switching to full production also means we’ll start streaming again. Once the streaming schedule is decided, we’ll post it here and on social media!

Desert Monsters

Today’s update focuses on some of the monsters for the as-yet-unnamed desert region surrounding Port Maerifa we previewed back in November.

First up, we have this pupper, the Rompo.

Rompos roam the deserts around Maerifa, searching for food. Since they’re known to eat human corpses, Ajna and her crew would make tasty targets indeed.

Click here to see a rough animation!

Next up, we have the Golem, which you saw some concept art for in the campaign.

The golems in the desert come from the ruins that dot the treacherous landscape around Maerifa, and served as guards before whatever disaster claimed their creators. Now they roam aimlessly, defending the crumbling ruins from intruders.

Click here to see a rough animation!

Finally, we have the sandworm. No desert would be complete without a sandworm, right?

The sandworms lurk just beneath the surface, attacking anything they sense above them. While most are small, there are legends of worms that have grown to enormous lengths... and because Indivisible is a fantasy RPG, of course those legends are true.

Today’s a big day - it’s been one year since the Indivisible campaign successfully closed. Lab Zero is forever thankful for your support, and we have been working hard to bring you the Indivisible you deserve.

We’re happy to announce that the BackerKit surveys have started going out and should be waiting in your e-mail inbox within the next few days.

So check them, but don’t freak out if you don’t have yours yet - it’ll be coming soon!

From your BackerKit surveys you can:

  • Upgrade to a higher pledge tier
  • Add-on additional goods from your tier, such as a T-shirt in the other color, multiple Roti plushes for friends, etc.
  • Claim your Steam codes for How to Survive and Brothers
  • Confirm or change your mailing address
  • Select your game platform, T-shirt sizes, etc.

Proceeds from upgrades and add-ons will go back into the game, and work towards the final stretch goals!

The next stretch goal is full VO for the game’s story, something we’re totally within striking distance of! Check out this short video by Indivisible’s voice director, the amazing Cristina Vee, where she talks about what she’d like to do if we hit the Full VO stretch goal.

So if you’ve been thinking about upgrading from the digital game to the campaign-exclusive Limited Physical Edition, now’s your chance!

Finally, as a gift for our PS4 fans, we’ve released a free Dynamic Theme on the PlayStation Store in the US and EU!

This theme was created by the wonderful folks at Truant Pixel, and features animated characters, a complete icon set, and a new track from Hiroki Kikuta! Be sure to download it!

US PSN: Download Here

EU PSN: Not published yet

And one last thing…

Remember that Mystery Anime Studio you funded an opening from a year ago?

Let me jog your memory...

All told, Indivisible will feature three full minutes of top-notch animation from this stellar anime studio. Production will begin sometime next year, and we’re going to try to bring you some behind-the-scenes info about the animation process as well!

Needless to say, we’re extremely excited to be working with such a talented and creative animation team, and we think the end result will be absolutely stunning!

Fun Fact: The director of the opening was one of the character designers on the original Valkyrie Profile, which is Indivisible’s biggest inspiration!

Thanks so much for your support, and expect many more updates next year as Indivisible heads into full production!

Hey, Indivisible backers!

A few months back, we said that BackerKit surveys would be coming out soon. We had begun setting that up, but ran into a number of setbacks, mostly related to packaging approval from the console manufacturers.

We’re putting the finishing touches on the BackerKit setup now, but wanted to give you a sneak peek at all of the goods we weren’t able to show during the campaign.

First up is the Limited Edition physical release, which will be available for the PS4, Xbox One and PC releases.

If you saw Brady’s excellent work on the Limited Run Games edition of Skullgirls, you have an idea what to expect here, only more.

The art may change, but here’s what we have planned:

  • Clear plastic slipcover
  • Printed custom metal case
  • Physical game on the platform of your choice
  • Full color, hard-bound “art manual”

This is what we currently have in mind and have begun planning, but we may try to pack even more in at a later date.

Next up is the Indivisible T-Shirt.

With all of our shirts, we strive to come up with cool designs that don’t scream “video game shirt.” Indivisible fans will know that’s what this is, while everyone else hopefully just sees a cool shirt design.

The shirt will be available in “Heruka Blue” and Charcoal, in the following sizes:

  • Unisex S, M, L, XL, XXL, XXXL
  • Women’s S, M, L, XL

Finally, here’s a look at the giclee print, titled “Inner Peace” :

Created by Indivisible Art Director Mariel Cartwright and Rebecca Wu, the original concept behind this piece was to offer a more serene counterpoint to the aggressive Ajna statue. The print itself will be 12x17” and printed on watercolor paper and arrived framed.

We hope you like what you see, and will consider upgrading your contribution to help us reach the remaining stretch goals!

You’ll also be able to purchase additional goods from your tier as add-ons, in case you’d like to purchase an additional shirt for a loved one, or a buddy for Roti to hang out with.

And don’t worry - if cash is tight now, we’re currently planning to leave all of this open until the end of 2017!

Hey, Indivisible backers!

It’s hard to believe it, but it’s been a year since the Indivisible Prototype hit the PS4! And that means in about a month, it’ll have been one year since the the Indivisible crowdfunding campaign came to an end!

We’ve got some things cooking to celebrate Indivisible’s 1st Anniversary, so keep an eye out for that!

To tide you over until then, today we’d like to show off Port Maerifa and the desert surrounding it.

As the world’s most prominent trade hub, Port Maerifa’s bustling markets attract people from all regions ready to do business. Its centrality to the world economy has also made it a center of learning, and host to the Tower of Knowledge, a gargantuan library whose academics catalogue much of the world’s science and history.

Port Maerifa is currently under occupation by the Iron Kingdom, as they seek to divert as many of the world’s resources and knowledge to drive their expansion.

Surrounding Maerifa is a great desert, a stark and brutal landscape filled with danger. Ancient ruins carved from the deserts’ enormous sandstone cliffs  provide shelter from the punishing desert heat, but have also become home to monsters.

And here you can see an early modeling test of the desert from our new environmental wunderkind, Juliano Yi! You can follow Juliano on Twitter, or check out his work on ArtStation.

Hope you enjoyed this early look at Port Maerifa and the desert! Next time, we’ll take a look at some of the monsters inhabiting these areas!

Hi, Backers!

Franimal here, Indivisible’s producer, to give everyone a production update.

It’s been a while since our last update - between tool development, pipeline adjustments, and heavy concepting, it’s been a hectic couple of months.

Over the past 6 months Lab Zero has been in pre-production, working on a lot of concepts for the environments and characters in the game, as well as setting up as much of the tech and gameplay foundation as we can before building out the game.

Although during our pre-production phase we’ve been concepting new monsters, bosses and Incarnations to introduce into the game, we’ve also been working on a number of execution tasks, such as finalizing Ajna’s moveset. Balancing those two aspects of development, concepting and execution, proved to be less efficient than we’d hoped and there’s still work to be done before we can move into full production.

As such, we’ve decided to extend our pre-production phase until the end of the year in order to give the team more time to complete all of our pre-production goals. This includes things like refining the character designs, concepting moves for all the characters and monsters, implementing new tech to streamline level building, and refining the story.

In particular, we’ve been making great strides on the environment art, and I think you’ll agree that we’ve made a lot of progress in getting a more “2D” look to match the character art.

It’ll be just a little longer before we can shower you with new monster and character animations, but this new approach will make everything that much faster and better when the pre-production phase ends and full production begins.

Until then, we’ll continue to release new concept art and production updates like we have been so far, so look forward to those.
